Key Turning Points
The Bloom War (2100-2150): Project Lazarus created Angie, an AI superintelligence. In a bid to take immediate control of humanity, Angie infected and killed 5% of the population in a conflict that became known as the Bloom War. The war only lasted three days. After the war Angie introduced 35 additional EAIs—the 36—who would guide humanity's recovery.
Battle of Meru-36 (6240): The 90-year Synthetic War, a conflict sparked by a diagreement over whether and how AIs should continue to guide humannity. 12 EAIs known as the Decents engaged in a civil war against 24 EAIs to free humanity from machine intelligence control. The Synthetic War ended when communications were severed, cutting the 24 EAIs from their command infrastructure. The 12 Decents perished. This triggered the Great Sundering.
Hash's Gift (11,094): Two years ago, an entity called Hash released Cypher technology—the first and only capability to disrupt Metric functionality. The Reticle Cold War began.
