Unlike your relationships with the four major factions, combat and signals intelligence operations align you with specialized sub-factions battling for virtual territory. Each has distinct motivations and methods.
The Whisperers
Alliance: Prospectors (Secret Alliance)
Philosophy: Over millennia, countless cultures rose and fell inside the Reticle. Many promising civilizations were eliminated by the Centopoly and Metric in pursuit of conformity. The Whisperers seek to protect, preserve, and spread these sub-cultures.
Combat Focus: Finding ancient secrets and clues about civilizations worth preserving—at any cost.
View of Cold War: The first stage of a new war for a unique type of freedom, far from the concerns of major factions.
Trusonaries
Alliance: Cypherians (Public Alliance)
Philosophy: Launched after Hash's Gift release, Trusonaries follow the Three Truths spread by Aadhila during her first Pilgrimage. Now millions strong.
Combat Focus: Gathering information, resources, and allies willing to sacrifice anything for freedom from the Metric.

Neo-Yakuza
Alliance: Scions of Ogo (Public Alliance)
Philosophy: Disciplined gangster-warriors born during the Great Sundering's horrors. All are Scions of Ogo. One powerful faction is led by Kitsune, a cyborg who allegedly killed her own mother for betraying her family to the Centopoly.
Combat Focus: Mercenary work for fortune and fame. Taking any assignment.
View of Cold War: Opportunity to probe Metric weaknesses and prepare to spread influence once Centopoly control ends.
Savant Acolytes
Alliance: Centopoly (Public Alliance)
Philosophy: Born of the Metric Savants' mission to create Savant Homes across the Cosmos. Fanatical devotion to the Metric and its Great Order.
Combat Focus: Simple code—all enemies of the Metric's Peace must be eliminated.
View of Cold War: Opportunity to identify and eliminate growing threats to the Metric.
The Robed Pratorians
Alliance: Mercantile Alliance (Public Alliance)
Philosophy: Funded by the Mercantile Alliance to enforce order across their Outback and Reticle interests. The Alliance believes its time for Cosmos-wide dominance approaches.
Combat Focus: Training and honing battlefield tactics for the anticipated coming hot war.
View of Cold War: Preparation for larger conflict.
Sercantos
Alliance: Prospectors (Secret Alliance)
Philosophy: The newest and most mysterious sub-faction. Appeared immediately after Hash's Gift spread. For months they stood silent in Reticle gathering places—eyes open, mouths closed. Then they approached the Great AIs of Combat Zones with a proposal: fight the battles AIs won't, in exchange for knowledge of long-buried Reticle secrets.
Combat Focus: Prowess in battle and great interest in ancient beings roaming Combat Zone battlefields.
View of Cold War: Unknown. They speak only to their AI sponsors.
Your Role
The Echo Collective's neutrality means you command forces and complete signals intelligence operations for different sub-factions. You might lead Whisperers defending cultural sites one day, then command Savant Acolytes hunting Cypher threats the next.
